1. Introduction
Debrief ("we," "us," "our") provides a platform for recording, transcribing, and summarizing calls, screen shares, and meetings. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: Name, email address, company name, and password when you create an account.
Recording content: Audio, video, screen captures, transcripts, and any text generated from your recordings (summaries, chapters, action items).
Usage data: How you interact with Debrief — pages visited, features used, and device or browser information.
Integration data: If you connect Debrief to third-party tools (Slack, Linear, your CRM, or AI agents via MCP), we receive the information necessary to complete that connection and sync data as directed by you.
3. How We Use Your Information
To provide and improve the recording, transcription, and summarization features
To generate AI-powered summaries, chapters, and action items from your recordings
To route content to integrations you've connected
To communicate with you about your account or changes to our service
To maintain security and prevent abuse
4. Recording Consent
Debrief may record calls involving other participants. You are responsible for obtaining consent from everyone on a call before recording, in line with the laws of your location and theirs. Some jurisdictions require all parties to consent to being recorded.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your data. We may share information with:
Service providers who help us operate Debrief (hosting, transcription processing, customer support tools)
Integrations you connect, limited to what's needed for that integration to function
Legal authorities, if required by law or to protect rights and safety
6. Data Retention
Recordings and transcripts are retained according to your workspace's retention settings, or until you delete them. Account information is retained for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal and operational purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data. Contact us at privacy@debrief.app to exercise these rights.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews — to protect your data. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to use strong, unique passwords.
9. International Data Transfers
If you're located outside the region where our servers operate, your data may be transferred internationally. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
10. Children's Privacy
Debrief is not intended for use by anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice.
